It’s been a while since we updated this blog. We’ve been in our laboratory, working on some recordings of new tunes and rehearsing with our new lead guitarist- Flyin’ Ryan Obrien, getting ready for some upcoming shows. The EP probably won’t be released until February… probably just in time for Valentine’s Day. Stay tuned for that! We’ll keep y’all posted!
As far as upcoming shows, we are playing Sat. Dec. 19th at Bube’s Brewery in Mount Joy, PA- with our good friends, They Were Only Satellites. Starts at 10pm- NO COVER! 21/+. We also have a few January shows coming up- Jan. 9th at Quips Pub in Lancaster, PA. Opening for They Were Only Satellites- 10pm- 21/+ AND….. The Annual Beach Party at Bube’s Brewery in Mount Joy…. January 29th…. We’ll be hitting the stage around 11:30! Bube’s Bottling Works will be filled with literally TONS of sand… bring your bathing suit!
And about that new guy… Flyin’ Ryan…. He’s our lead guitarist and we’ve been working with him for a while now. His first show with us will be on Jan. 9th. You may have seen him in bands such as Lonesome Kings and The Butchers. Come out to our upcoming shows and see what all the FUZZ is about!
ALSO…. come out to Bube’s Brewery on Dec. 26th…. avoid cleaning up the wrapping paper and shuffle the in-laws off early…. come out to rock with Reason Left Town, Adamo Drive, They Were Only Santa’s Lights (Clayton, Tom & possibly Steve from They Were Only Satellites) and The High Lite Lifes… Dylan and I- playing some Nettles tunes with a different spin…. as well as some “solo” material.

We can’t be any more excited about our first full-length record! It’s impossible! We’ve sent the final mixes to be mastered at Treelady studios in Pittsburgh, PA. Garrett Haines of Treelady/Tape-Op magazine fame will be making our great record sound even greater! We recorded/mixed the album ourselves in our own space with our own gear. It was a process that lasted from August 2008 until January 2009. We took our time and made some really great recordings of what we feel are some really great songs! We hope that you will enjoy the record as much as we enjoyed making it. We’ll fill you in on all the juicy details of pre-ordering the record and our record-release party!

Well folks, the full-length record is almost finished being mixed. After that its off to be mastered and then replicated. We can’t wait for you ALL to hear this record! We love it and we hope you will too!

Nettles Sting Philly THIS FRIDAY!

Stinging Nettles will be traveling to the city of brotherly love on Friday Jan. 2nd to play a show with Joe Jack Talcum(Dead Milkmen/Low Budgets), Deleted Scenes (from D.C.)and The Bee Team (Philly) at Millcreek Tavern.
We know its a trek to Philly from Lancaster… especially on a Friday, but we’d appreciate your support during this, our first show of the new year!
We are ALMOST finished with the full-length record…. a few finishing touches and then it’ll be time to mix & master during January. Look for a record-release show sometime in Feb.!
Well, we hope to see y’all in Philly this Friday at the Millcreek Tavern….
